The confusion around watch water resistance leads to damaged watches, voided warranties, and a lot of unnecessary anxiety. Whether you see 3 ATM, 5 ATM, 10 ATM, or 20 ATM on a watch case, the rating tells you something very specific — and very different from what most people assume.
